DSU Elections 2014
No elections are currently running
The Exec team are DMU students who are elected to work in a paid position in the Students' Union for an academic year.
We elect five Officers who are all responsible for the overall direction of the Students' Union but each Officer has their own portfolio of responsibility too, ranging from education, welfare, media and student activities.
Be a leader
Fancy leading and representing the 21,000 students that study at DMU? If you think you have what it takes to be a great leader and to ensure that we fulfil our promise to enhance the student experience, join us by standing for a post!
Inspire your fellow students to get involved with their Union. Allow them to see the real differences that the Students' Union can make to the whole student experience.
Help to organise great campaigns and events for your students to get involved with. From talking with students over breakfast to organising fundraising events like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for charity!
Stand out from the crowd and help the Union progress in new ways. Challenge yourself to think outside the box and be bold with new ideas.
You will get to meet loads of new people on a day to day basis at all levels within the University, from students to the Vice Chancellor and everyone in between!
Be ready for anything
Only as an officer at the Students' Union can you dress up like Bonnie Tyler and do a flashmob performance with the Vice Chancellor in the morning, and then meet with the Academic Board in the afternoon to represent a student accused of plagiarism. The job is truly like no other, expect something different everyday!
Make a difference
From supporting students when they need help the most, to volunteering with community projects and charities. Do you think you can make a difference.
