Volunteer Day Care Assistants are needed to provide support and physical assistance to Day Care users and help deliver the programme of activities. Computer Club Trainers are also needed to assist the teaching of over-55s to use computers, particularly internet and e-mail packages.

Coping with Cancer
Coping with Cancer provide support to local people whose life has been affected by cancer through on-going counselling, support and group activities at their Day Centre in Leicester City Centre.

Curtis Weston Day Centre
The day centre works with older people. The clients would like to have young people to discuss current affairs with. They are also looking for volunteers to take part in social group sessions and for volunteers to run skill-sharing sessions e.g. arts and crafts.

SAFE
The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of burglaries in the local area and re-victimisation. Volunteers will work in pairs assessing properties and taking action where necessary fitting locks, chains, window locks and alarms and other safety measures. The project is in partnership with Safer Leicester and Hinckley Road Police Station. Volunteers will be fully trained and supported throughout the project.

SECS Clinic
The aim of the SECS Clinic is to raise awareness of sexual health and to provide confidential drop-ins for students. The volunteers will be fully trained by local professionals and will be distributing free condoms, pregnancy tests and Chlamydia tests as well as advice on any other issues. Volunteers will work in pairs for the confidential sessions and be fully supported by DMU staff.

Sense
Sense campaigns for, provides advice, information and specialist services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. Sense holidays give deafblind people the chance to get away from it all, taste new experiences and have a lot of fun!

The Cinnamon Trust
The Cinnamon Trust support older people to look after their pets. This becomes particularly important when the elderly person goes into a care home or hospital. They also provide a service to match up those who have lost pets and pets who have lost their owners. Volunteers can help the elderly person look after the pet in the home e.g. dog walking or foster the pet until their owner returns home
