Why not consider an event at De Montfort University Students' Union's venue – Level 1

We can host fundraising events, presentation evenings, parties and celebration evenings – all at very reasonable prices.

Divided into two rooms, our venue has standing capacity for 1,000 people. The flexible nature of the space means it is also possible to host smaller events by using half the space. Seating can be arranged for cabaret style events and presentation evenings. A permanent stage is available for presentations, speeches and charity auctioneers and is also frequently used for live music and personal appearances. Our two rooms also enable age appropriate activities for adults and children or young people to be hosted simultaneously for those interested in staging a family friendly event.

Level1 is situated close to Leicester city centre and has ample car parking nearby. The venue is maintained to a high standard and currently holds a Best Bar None award from Leicester City Council, recognising the good practices in place for our activities.

Managed by De Montfort Students’ Union the venue is able to offer very competitive bar prices, which create the opportunity for your supporters to enjoy a night, which is excellent value for money in comparison with other similar sized venues in the city. Alternatively, it is possible to structure your hire so that you can add to a fundraising total by opting for a slightly higher tariff and receiving a small proportion of the bar revenue or by using a higher bar tariff to reduce your hire fee.

Catering for events can be source through one of our commercial partners. We have suppliers to suit a range of tastes and price ranges.

We are able to structure the charges for your event in a number of ways depending on the nature of the activities that you have in mind. We usually charge a hire fee for each event depending on the type of evening planned and anticipated attendance. However, we are also willing to explore other arrangements which might reduce the risk of putting on an event, particularly for smaller charities and community groups.

During the year our venue is occasionally draped with additional decoration for the Students’ Union’s own special events. In addition to our standard hire, we are able to offer the venue with this special décor to other organisations for their own promotions at very attractive prices on the days immediately after our own functions. This provides a unique opportunity for you to host a very special evening and maximize the return for your organisation. Please ring for further details if you are interested in this opportunity.
