• Reuse carrier bags or buy a canvas bag for life for carrying those books to lectures, doing the shopping and for your gym kit.
• Save money on bills by;
Using low energy light bulbs and by using more concentrated products such as washing up liquid.
• Take your phone charger out the socket when not in use.
• Turn off those standby buttons on all electrical appliances when not in use.
• Turn lights off when you have finished in the room.
• When boiling the kettle only boil the amount you need, turn the tap off when you clean your teeth and have a shower instead of a bath.
• Avoid using electrical heaters.
• It’s most probably your accommodation is in walking distance (or at least cycling distance) from town and university, so stop using your car and if you have to, use public transport.
