De Montfort Students' Union has a range of fun and interesting activities for you to get involved in whilst you are studying here at DMU. Join one of our many sports teams or societies to meet new people and try something new. Join DSU Volunteering and make a difference during your time here at DMU or why not get involved with our award winning Demon Media.

1. Be a Freshers Rep
Do you remember your first week at DMU? Help to give new DMU students a week never to forget and help them to settle into life at Uni. In return for a couple of hours each day during freshers' you will get a range of goodies - click here for more details.
2. Be a Student Officer
Student Officers are part-time officers who have a particular remit to represent different groups of students. Roles vary from Mature Students Officer to Sports Officer so click here for more information on how you can get elected into one of these roles.
3. Be a DSU Volunteer
DSU Volunteering offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities in the community - a great way to gain work experience and increase your employability to propsective employers. To browse through the full range of opportunities click here.
4. Be a Society Committee Member
DSU has over 60 different societies for you to take part in. All of these groups has a team of committee members to organise activities, plan events and liaise with the SU about the societies work. Take a look at our societies page to see the range of societies available and get in touch to find out how you can become more involved.
5. Be a Demon
The Demon is the Students' Union media group. It is made up of a student newspaper, radio and tv station. It is completely student led and there are opportunities to join the editorial team for the paper through to presenting your own radio show. 6. Be a Mentor
DSU is looking for students to come forward to mentor a young child in care who lives locally. If you feel you could be a positive and inspiring role model then get in touch by emailing volunteer@dmu.ac.uk for more info.
7. Be a Representative
The Students' Union provides support and training to all course and faculty representatives. If you nominate yourself for one of these roles then get in touch with Colina Wright who can provide you with more details on how to access this support and accreditation for your role. 8. Be a Campaigner
The DSU Executive team organise a range of campaigns throughout the year, from raising awareness of HIV and Aids right through to personal safety and home security. If you would like to help by joining the campaigns team then pop along to the Exec office on the 1st floor of the Students' Union
9. Be a Fundraiser
Every year DSU raises money for local good causes through the RAG society. They are always looking for new members to help come up with new fundraising campaigns so get in touch with the VP Student Activities for more information
10. Be behind the scenes
If you prefer to help out behind the scenes then why not become a DSU Admin volunteer and gain useful office and admin experience whilst also supporting your Students' Union. Email volunteer@dmu.ac.uk for more details. We are also looking for assistance with Graphic Design work and Marketing so if you are looking for useful work experience then get in touch!
